Many of our events are centered around Team Building Activities. They will provide an opportunity for our members to work together in a group setting to solve a problem or accomplish a task.

At all of our events we will pair up individuals with disabilities with Mentors who will socialize with them and engage them in the activities.

Team Building Activities

Here are some examples of our most popular team building activities.

Amoeba Tag

One person will be in charge of chasing the other players, and as they accumulate tagged players they will also be the leader and organizer of group movements.  Every time a person gets tagged, they must join hands with the person who tags them. This will create an "amoeba" as the group of tagged players grows. The group must move as a unit in order to accomplish their goal of tagging every person

Spaghetti and Marshmallow Challenge

For this game, you need 1 packet of marshmallows, 1 packet of spaghetti. The idea is to have 2 or more teams in competition to see who builds the highest tower using only the items provided. The towers must be safe - no points for them toppling over!!

Egg Drop

Teams of 3-5 take materials and build something to protect a raw egg.  Each team will get one foot of cardboard and duck tape and several thin straws. The eggs that survive a 10+ foot drop successfully completes the challenge.

Build a bridge

The idea of this game is simple - split your group into teams of 3 or 4, and give each team a "Building Kit" consisting of  icecream sticks, stick tack, paperclips, string and glue. Each group has 30 minutes to build a bridge to span across a bowl of water. At the end of 30 minutes, each group has to demonstrate their bridge.  You then test it for strength by adding pebbles one at a time, until the bridge collapses.  The team with the strongest bridge wins!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Photo Scavenger Hunt is a fun team-based scavenger hunt with an interesting twist — the goal is to bringing back digital photos (or polaroids) of places and things. By doing this, people will capture good memories and also have some experience working together as a team.

Cake Decorating Contest

East team must work together to decorate cake. This activity will not only involve working in a team but will allow participants to be creative and use their imagination. Judges will vote on most attractive looking cake.
